Adenosine A2a Antagonists

An adenosine receptor antagonist is a combined treatment with carbidopa/levodopa when experiencing "off" episodes. While it has been proven to reduce "off" time by 30-60 minutes in some patients per day, it can also worsen dyskinesia. It can also contribute to insomnia if taken later in the day.
