She is currently a Professor of Neurology and Section Chief of the Movement Disorders Section at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Her research focuses on non-drug interventions for sleep disorders and cognitive challenges in Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Amara treats patients with Parkinson’s, other movement disorders, and sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, narcolepsy, REM sleep behavior disorder, restless leg syndrome, and idiopathic hypersomnia.
