Please join us for a Cocktail Dinner benefitting the Parkinson Association of Alabama and in memory of Nancy Stetler on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 6pm. This year's event will be hosted at OvenBird (2819 3rd Avenue - Birmingham, AL 35233). A live auction that includes many wonderful vacations will also be conducted.

Each year since 2008, the PAA has hosted this premier event to generate funds for UAB's Pre-Doctoral Scholar program. Parkinson's disease has greatly affected our families and friends. This evening allows us to celebrate our loved ones while raising funds to support Parkinson's disease research underway at UAB.

Due to the success of last year's dinner, the PAA was able to provide funding for the 2021 Doctoral Scholar at the UAB Center for Neurodegeneration and Experimental Therapeutics for William Jay Stone. Thanks to the generous support of attendees, Jay was able to work with Dr. Standaert to understand the impact of pesticides in Parkinson's disease, with a focus on how pesticides disrupt the ability of 14-3-3 proteins to prevent protein misfolding in Parkinson's disease.

This year, Dr. Standaert has identified Jhodi Webster at the 2022 PAA Pre-Doctoral Scholar. Jhodi is a 3rd year PhD student who was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. As part of the Neuroscience Research at UAB, she joined Ashley Harms' lab in 2021. Jhodi's research focuses on how the presence of aggregated alpha-synuclein, beta-amyloid and tau copathologies contribute to neuroinflammation in Parkinson's disease. She is passionate about this project because of its potential to elucidate new therapeutic avenues for the disease. With the completion of her predoctoral training, she hopes to contribute to translational research in targeting PD.

Please join us to meet Jhodi Webster and one of our nation's leading Parkinson's experts and UAB Neurology Department Chairman, Dr. David Standaert. Previous PAA Pre-Doctoral Scholar Recipients have included:

  • 2021, William Jay Stone

  • 2020, Casey Mahoney

Good Morning!! My name is Justin Simporios from Canada. My daughter was unable to walk for several months after an accident that required her to have surgery. Because I haven't won the Lotto I've been playing for so long, I haven't been able to pay for the surgery. A friend online recommended Lord Meduza to me and he deserves a really, really big THANK YOU. This man chose to help me with a lottery spell and he gave me the precise numbers to play the Canada Lotto Max Lottery. After two weeks, I was proclaimed the winner of $80 MILLION DOLLARS. Now, my daughter will be able to walk once more after so much time as her surgery is now…

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease four years ago. For over two years, I relied on prescription medications and therapies, but unfortunately, the symptoms continued to worsen. My mobility declined, tremors increased, and I experienced growing fatigue and discomfort that affected my daily life. Last year, out of desperation and hope, I decided to try an herbal treatment program from NaturePath Herbal Clinic. Honestly, I was skeptical at first, but within a few months of starting the treatment, I began to notice real changes. My energy improved, the discomfort eased, and I felt stronger and more capable in my daily life. Incredibly, I also regained much of my stamina, balance, and confidence. It’s been a life-changing experience I feel more…

I battled Multiple Sclerosis for 6 years, trying countless conventional treatments without success. My younger brother also suffered from Parkinson’s disease for 9 years. Doctors told us there was no cure for either condition. Everything changed when we discovered Dr. Madida Sam through www.earthcureherbalclinic.com. With the help of Dr. Sam, his team, and co-doctors, both my MS and my brother’s Parkinson’s symptoms were completely reversed and cured. We are truly grateful to EarthCure Herbal Clinic for giving us our lives back.

My partner was diagnosed with Parkinson’s almost 5 years ago. His disease has progressed significantly in the past year, and he begun to have delusions. He also had side effects from carbidopa/levodopa, which we decided to stop, and our primary physician decided he should start on PD-5 formula 4 months ago. He now sleeps soundly, works out frequently, and is now very active since we started him on the PD-5 formula. It doesn’t make the Parkinson’s disease go away, but it did give him a better quality of life. We got the treatment from uinehealthcentre.com
