We are hosting a virtual symposium on Nov. 9, 2021, at 9 a.m. to discuss research, resources, updates and more about PD from the past year. Anyone interested in the event can register online on the “Upcoming Events” page of our website.

What is this symposium?
This conference will focus on updates in Parkinson’s research, discuss resources for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and highlight what PAA is doing now and in the future for our community. In addition, medical professionals and individuals with PD will share their expert opinions and experiences. This is a great opportunity to become educated about what goes into fighting PD.
Who should attend?
Everyone is welcome to attend! There are helpful resources and information for anyone interested in learning about PD in the state of Alabama, regardless of one’s relationship to the disease. The goal is for you to leave knowing the PAA is on the right path and that those affected by PD are in the right hands. The event will be held virtually from 9-11:30 a.m., so anyone can tune in regardless of location.

The symposium will cover the following topics:
Updates regarding UAB’s Udall Center of Excellence in Parkinson's Disease Research
Updates from PAA, including events, partnerships, fundraisers, research and more
An information session about the Parkinson’s Disease Resource Center
New changes and navigation how-to’s for the updated PAA website, highlighting the resources and support available through PAA
An overview of the statewide support groups available for individuals with PD, families/friends of individuals with PD and caregivers
An open-floor discussion where we can learn how PAA can better fulfill the needs of who we serve
And finally, a panel discussion that will include physicians, care partners and individuals with PD
Why should you tune in? We want to share the progress of PAA and the state of Alabama over the past year and hear community feedback! We want to hear what you have to say to ensure we are providing the best quality of work for all.
