At the PAA, we have a renewed sense of energy and urgency to provide the support needed by those with Parkinson's and their care partners. We try to strike the balance between funding research locally for a cure and helping those on the journey impacted by Parkinson's now.

We generate funding by hosting many fun-filled events throughout the year that allow for community connectedness and recruitment from our generous community sponsors and individual contributors. With their generosity, we are able to provide even more educational programming, scholarships, care navigation programs and research for a cure -- all of which are kept local to our state. Alabama is fortunate to have one of only four Advanced Care Centers for Parkinson's Research in the U.S. located at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). The PAA continuously provides critical financial support to fund research designed to slow or halt the progression of the disease and find a cure. Our donations to date to UAB are approaching $14 million. Still, more funding is the key to unlock a cure.

Additionally, we have worked hard to revitalize our Care Navigation and Online Resource Center that will serve as your GO TO Resource for everything Parkinson's in Alabama. We will also work to setup the newly diagnosed with a successful start, providing compassionate and tailored content through person-centered Care Navigation sessions.
