The 2nd Annual Find a Potion for Parkinson’s! was a tremendous success! The 2016 event at Gamble Park in Jasper, Alabama raised $5482.13 – exceeding our goal of $5000 – for research towards a cure for Parkinson’s Disease through the Parkinson Association of Alabama (PAA).
Coordinators April Madison (Inspire Fitness Owner) and Amie Box White (PD caregiver) ensured the event – hosted by Inspire Fitness and centered around a 10K, 5K, and 1 mile Fun Run – provided something for everyone, including:
- Thanks to God for a beautiful day
- Recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance
- Singing the National Anthem
- Recitation of Prayer
- Remarks from Mary T Miller, PAA Executive Director, regarding the impact of community events on PD awareness and fundraising
- 10K, 5K, and 1 mile Fun Run
- Great shopping – over 12 vendors in attendance!
- Bouncy house for the children
- Mad Scientist for kids of all ages
- Costume contest for children and adults
This event would not be possible without the continued support, prayer, and enthusiasm of the hosts, participants, sponsors, donors, and volunteers. We are so thankful for your support and look forward to seeing everyone next year!
